My Top 7 Favourite YouTubers

Updated: Aug 19, 2021

Youtube is the single largest content consumption and creation platform for most of us. With so much content available for free, it’s easy to consume irrelevant content. It is important to consume content that inspires you, entertains you or improves your life in some way.

I consume a lot of content from productivity, finance, food, books and make-up space and today I’m going to share with you my top 7 favourite youtubers.

1. Ali Abdaal

I came across Ali’s work in 2019 when I was deciding on purchasing the kindle. Watching him I was completely sold and ended up buying one for myself. It has been a life changing decision. You can check out more about it here.

But since then, I have grown to become a huge fan of Ali. He is multi-faceted and also relatable in more ways than one. He provides practical solutions to everyday problems and is one of the most knowledgeable persons that I know.

Watching his videos instantly motivates me to do more with life in general but most importantly to read books. He has been a single biggest motivator for me to shift from reading fiction books to non-fiction. I did not know the importance of reading non-fiction books and somehow felt these were boring. But the amount of knowledge a single non-fiction can impart is incomparable.

2. Saheli Chatterjee

I came across Saheli (Helly on Youtube) when I was looking for book recommendations. The amount of knowledge she has at the young age that she is in is absolutely mind-blowing. And she credits it mostly to reading plenty of books. She recommends a lot of free resources and courses, so I hope you check her work. She inspires me to read more. I learnt from her that the goal is be rich and not look rich.

I have been following her work for over 1.5 years. I have seen her grow leaps and bounds from a book-tuber to a boss lady setting up her own online course.I have also understood that focusing on your learning and growth can boost your confidence. Watching her work inspires me to keep learning and growing.

3. Kritika Goel

Kritika is a travel youtuber who mostly travels solo. Her personality is very relatable and I find a lot of myself in her. She has traveled solo to many cities within India and a lot of countries in the world. She has a very elegant yet simplistic personality that inspires me to travel and experience the world as an independent woman in today’s age.

4. Saloni Srivastava

Saloni is a productivity and lifestyle youtuber. She has a simple, straight-forward personality which would be relatable to most Indian women. She provides value based content on how to be more productive, handling finances and budgeting. She also posts simple food recipes from time to time.

She inspires me to take action and handle my own finances. She also lets me believe that no dream is too small and that if you set your mind to something, it is very much achievable. In 2020, she launched her own Academy and has transformed to a Boss Lady. It makes me so happy to watch her succeed.

5. Shreya Jain

Shreya Jain is one of the first beauty youtubers that I started following. I have been following her work for over 5 years. She was one of the youngest in her genre of work at that time. I have been a witness of her transformation. Even after achieving all the fame, she has maintained her honesty and is true to her work. She inspires me to be consistent and honest with my work.

6. Marion’s Kitchen

I love simple recipes that taste incredible. Marion shares really simple, easy to cook recipes that are mostly South Asian. Her presentation of food and the video production just makes you want to dive into her kitchen and dig into the food that she has created.

I have re-created some of the recipes she shares and they taste incredible. I love how is not very strict with her ingredients or measurements so you are not intimidated by the recipe even before starting to cook.

7. Pranjal Kamra

One of my friends introduced me to Pranjal Kamra’s channel and I became a huge fan of his soon after. He teaches very complicated financial terms in very simple, easily consumable language that even a novice to finance can easily understand.

He covers all the relevant topics pertaining to finance. He also has a course on basics of stock market freely available on youtube. He has so far written two books on finances called Investonomy and Mint Your Money.

His knowledge inspires me to become more financially literate.
