I hope you’re doing well.
I have been out of action for a few months now as I was dealing with health issues in the family. However, now that I’m back, I’m here to share something super special to me as this is what helped me kick-start this platform and share my ideas and thoughts. So, let’s begin.
Pandemic was upon on full throttle when I felt like I needed to do something with the additional time I was getting from not having to commute back and forth to the office. But I didn't know what I wanted to do. For a few days, I was going through YouTube content and got interested in learning and investing in finances. This is when I started my journey with Personal Finance. A part of Personal Finance also focuses on not depending on a single source of income and building a source of passive income. That is when I got interested to know more about side hustles.
The Magical Appearance:
I had been following Saloni’s content on youtube for over two years then and realised that she has not posted for a long time. I went to stalk her on Instagram and started following her. A couple of days after, in the second week of June, I saw her stories regarding a limited period offer she was running on the HustlePost Academy which had recently launched. Guess what, it was on how to start your side-hustle journey!
She had also launched a course on Content Writing alongside the full-fledged course, so, I went for a single course on Content Writing before I go into fully diving myself into the full-fledged course.
The New Beginnings:
I was supremely excited for this new beginning in my life. At that time, I didn’t even know such courses existed. I got access to the course and finished with all the training within a week. The lessons in the course were easy to understand for a complete beginner like me. Saloni is a great teacher and mentor. She is one of those teachers who is crystal clear about the knowledge she is sharing. So, after I finished this mini-course, I wanted to learn more and went on to enrol for the full course of HustlePost Academy.
The Insightful Journey:
This course starts with a foundation course wherein you get the chance to thoroughly deep dive into what your actual interests may be so that you can pursue your interests further.
This section of the course is comprehensive and will ensure you have a strong understanding of what you should proceed with. If you already know what you want, well you sure can skip it but if you’re like me who was clueless, this section is super helpful.
Once, you have completed it, and if you still feel unsure, you may reach out to the academy directly over email and they are more than willing to assist you on a call or email to resolve your questions and concerns.
Once you have pinned down your interest, there are comprehensive courses called Power-Ups for each category. These are super detailed and will you give all the tools to get you started on the side-hustle journey.
There are also office hour calls that Saloni hosts on a weekly basis and you could join these to clarify your questions. I would also join these calls when I had no questions so I could listen and learn from other students' questions. It is a positive and encouraging community and everyone is supportive of each other.
There are a number of additional sessions that are held by guest speakers who are well known in their niche. We also have coffee chat sessions held by students themselves. Some sessions that were really useful were on SMM by Saheli Chatterjee and Finance Session with Paritosh Nath.
The best thing that HustlePost Academy offers is a community of like-minded hustlers who are also trying their best to find their niche or excel in the niche that they have chosen for themselves. Each day you get to read their wins and experiences on the Facebook group which is sure to motivate you as well. You’re also more than likely to make new friends in this community and grow together.
My Side-Hustle Journey:
So, after I went through all the courses that were applicable to my side-hustle journey, I built this website on my own in January 2021 and started posting blogs every weekend. It gave me a new high in life after slogging the 9 to 5 weeks. I would look forward to writing every weekend to post a new article in each week.
This blog served as a channel for my self-growth. It gave me the avenue to share my thoughts and explore my writing skills. It increased my curiosity about learning and the drive to share some value through each of these blogs helped to embark on this journey of continuous learning and self-growth. Its a long journey and I’m here for it.
On some days, I do feel a sense of Imposter Syndrome, but, I trust that it’s all a part of the journey. Everyone does feel it at some point in their side-hustle journey. The important thing is your effort to stay consistent and keep working on improving yourself one day at a time. This will eventually get you the results that you are working towards. So, don’t lose hope and keep at it.
