How many times do we regret not completing a task on a particular day and time? We thought it was a major task but ended up realising that if I had to break it down, I could have completed it in no time. For that matter, we forgot that one particular point that the client has asked to include in the project but now we are sitting and wondering what was the point? I have been there and done that too. So, don’t you worry, I’m here to list down 5 Amazing tools that will help you boost your productivity. So, let’s break it down for you.
1. Trello
Trello helps you clearly visualise the current status of the task/ project. It makes use of cards that can be moved from one category to another as we move between the tasks. The simple way is to list the tasks into To be Done -> Doing -> Done columns.
It’s an amazing tool to list down all your tasks that need to be completed and put them into relevant buckets as when the task has been taken up and completed. It is kanban based.
It’s a very simple tool and does not have a huge learning curve. It can be shared between teams and used to track all the tasks designated to the individual team members.
2. Google Keep
I’m sure most of us already use it but I will still include it in this list as it is one of my most-used apps. It can be used to jot down quick notes, ideas, to-do lists. It's super simple to use and can be easily synced across all your devices.
The best part being you can add voice notes and it saves the transcription as well as the voice that can be accessed as and when you need it. You can also colour code the notes to different categories and pin important notes for quick access.
The recent update on this no longer has a desktop app but can directly be accessed via a google chrome extension when you need to capture quick notes.
3. Toggl Track
Toggl App is used to track the amount of time you spend on any task/activity. This can have various use scenarios. If you’re a freelancer and are getting charged on an hourly basis, it can be used to record the amount of time spent on the task and later can be shared with your client.
If you’re finding it difficult to be productive and want to understand where exactly your time is being wasted; you can track those tasks too. This will give you a clear picture of where your time is getting wasted and help you utilise it more effectively.
4. Notion
I think this list would be incomplete without the mention of Notion. It has been the most raved about the app in recent times and rightly so. It has a ton of features and can be customised as per your needs.
It can be used as a simple to-do list manager or you can have your entire life on it to include all your professional and personal notes, databases, book notes, calendars, habit-trackers to name a few. The sky's the limit. It can also be shared with your team. I’m still a novice at using it but I want to continue using it and will keep you guys posted on my progress.
5. Google Calendar
This is easy to use a calendar that helps you time block and set reminders before the given task. It helps you stay disciplined to your routine and your time- block pretty much any task on it. You could include your meetings, exercise times, nap times, chill times. You can colour code each activity for better visualisation.
It helps you customise the reminder for each of the tasks. This feature is useful to keep yourself prepared and look forward to the next task. You can also add birthday reminders and set weekly monthly or yearly repetitions.
These apps have helped me in saving time and effort and has certainly boosted my productivity. How about you? Do you use these apps too? If so, how has it been helpful to you?
